I have an 03 z06 and today the car broke. I was going into 2nd from 1st at about 30 mph car went into 2nd and I heard a noise maybe a snap sound. Pulled over and car will no longer go into gears. the clutch feels a little loose but it has some clutch pedal at the end. But not enough to shift gears.
car has less than 300 miles on it nay ideas what the problem is.
Sorry, that I can't help you with the problem , but I am curious to know what happened as I have a 03 z06 with 200 miles on it , I hope it is not too serious :nonod:
not sure yet it is at the dealer now. I will no more tomorrow. The dealer did say this is the first they have seen with this amount of miles to have tranny problems. But they wont know til they crack it open tomorow. I will post back on this. crack it open was the dealers term, not mine. I dont like the thought of cracking it open on a $50,000 car
clutch was out of alignment is what the said. they replaced the entire clutch assembly. took about a week. sorry didnt post sooner I was on vacation.
There is a clutch alignment tool used during assembly, however, if it's not done correctly, you won't be able to push the drive shaft through so that it mates with the pilot bearing. As far as I know once that's done everything is aligned...
Glad you got it fixed. Hopefully someone will jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't buy what the dealer told you. If that's the case, I'd have reservations about returning my car to that dealer for future work.

Sounds bogus to me.

:iagree: Yup, I agree. Sounds like one of those 'ole "we can tell him anything cause he doesn't know any better anyway" statements. If someone told me that I'd be asking for a DETAILED explanation. It's not uncommon for dealers to tell you one thing and bill GM for another.
Thanks for the reply! hope she's fine... as far as the dealers go they can be a crooked sort.. there are alot of knowledgable people on this forum, once again, I hope it works out fine for you :smash: .. but im just going to keep an eye on this post to see what people think :lurk:
