First, I apologize if this as been asked before (the search function never seems to turn up much for me :( ).
I've seen some conflicting advice on adding a Blackwing to a 2001+. Although it appears to be fact that the Blackwing helps a pre-2001, I've read the intake was changed in 2001 and now there is very little benefit to the Blackwing. Anyone out there have a definitive answer?
I believe you are referring to the Z06 - in 02 the 06 intake was enlarged from the 01 - but the blackwing still flows better. You will not be disappointed with the blackwing ..... IMHO :)
I hope it helps the newer years, I just bought mine and had it shipped on Monday. :steering:
I'd imagine it does, since it is so much less restrictive, but maybe the results are not as good as the earlier C5's since we got a few more HP to start.
Looks can be deceiving...it's harder than it looks...believe me! But with a little help from the forum and "tech tips", I installed in under an hour. Look uo TECH TIPS in the forum. It will guide you throgh the installation. Remember, the BW comes with an adapter..take it off the BW and use the stock adapter. The way I did was, I started from the stock air box and worked myself back to the Throttle Body. Watch those grommets, they are very small and easy to get lost! For the price, it's a great mod!
