Just seeing if anyone knew where the switch for back up lights were on 1997 C5?? THe lights work when I use the alarm, however, when put into Reverse, the lights do not come on?? Any help would be appreciated!!
RH side of the manual transmission for MN6, Park/Neutral Switch, LH side of the transmission for A4.
It could be the PERIMLP micro relay, located in the Underhood Electrical Center. This is a five-position relay. In normal operation, current flows through either the backup lamp switch or the Park Neutral switch, through the relay, to the backup lamps. When you use the remote to unlock the BCM energizes the relay to switch pole positions, allow current to flow through another position on the relay to the backup lamps.
Switch or wiring is more likely than the relay, but you never know.
