Just bought a set of single adjustable koni's 3013's. I haven't installed them yet, but from looking at them its unclear to me if I will be able to adjust them without taking them off. does the shock bushing cover the adjuster sleave? Here is a picture of one of the front shocks:
Since it is now monday, I called Koni NA @ (859) 586-4100. I ask them if the 3013 can be adjusted on the car and the tech said yes, with the car jacked up. Then I asked "what about the dust boot", he said you would have to leave it off, or cut it back (quite a bit obviously to the point it serves no purpose).
I was so shocked to get thru to someone to answer my question, I was not ready to ask further questions.
So is the dust boot not that important? Wonder if it would be easy to cut a slit in it where the adjuster sleave is?
Shocks are installed, without dust boot, I can get to the adjuster by jacking the car up.
Using the rear jacking point, jack the car up to where the rear wheel almost leaves the ground. This allows access to the adjuster on the rear and front shock on that side.
The garage that install the shocks, also installed a nice 4"x1/4" gouge on the bottom of my rocker panel pulling it off there rack. :mad
Luckily I saw it that night, brought it back the next day, they looked and asked how do we know we did it? Once I showed them the smoking gun they fessed up and are paying to fix it. The smoking gun was a pile of powdery fiberglass mixed with specs of torch red paint still laying next to the rack that my car was on.
