What improvements with a new x pipe?
I've got a set of Corsa pace car mufflers. I'm getting ready to swap the 2.73's with 3.42's. Looks like a good time for a new cross pipe while the old one is off.
Any comments? What kind of sound change or performance improvements?
I did a search but couldn't really find anything pertinent.

The X – pipe ( I have a Corsa) will reduce some of the gurgle/popping and generally mellow out the sound. It will also raise the tone slightly but will not make it quieter (thank goodness). As for performance, that's hard to say. Maybe 5 to 7 hp. I think it's more for the sound. I originally had the Touring system but didn’t like the sound when I put the X on. I switched to the Indy Tigersharks and have been happy ever since. Hope this helped. – C.

I just had the corsa x pipe installed yesterday. Have had the Corsa Indys on for about 3 years on my 98. Two changes noticed. First, the motorboat sound at idle is gone. Smoothed out the idle sound, much better. The popping sound at deceleration, especially high speeds, or down shifting is greatly reduced. I'd say 75-80% reduction. If your looking for recommendation to put the x pipe on, do it at the same time your putting your Indy's on.
