Default Size of Headers

Greetings,

I currently have TPIS headers and some claim that this is one of the larger diameter headers - 1 3/4"? Could someon provide measurements for these headers:

TPIS
TTS
FLP
SLP
LG

I am running basically stock engine and the larger size tubes are robbing me of low end torque.

Thanks!!!!

TPIS are 1 3/4"
FLP are 1 3/4"
Cartek are 1 7/8"
SLP are 1 3/4"
LG are 1 3/4"
Stainless Works 1 3/4"
I don't know what TTS but I would gess that there only 1 3/4"
From what's been posted Carteck is the only one with 1 7/8" headers and I might be wrong but I haven't been looking for 1 7/8" headers just 1 3/4" for my H/C. A larger diameter will lower your low end torque and larger exhaust will do the same also. Most guys with NOS or turbos or superchargers or strocked motors will use the 1 7/8" headers and guys with stock or H/C will use the 1 3/4", most. I've seen a few post were most people like the TPIS headers but I've seen a two post where guys took off the TPIS and put the long LG headers and picked up 15 more hp on top of what they had with TPIS headers. But can you spend 2k for headers LG or 800 for the TPIS? I posted Kook headers are coming out with there stepped headers that will be in 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" and a 1 7/8" stepped to 2" coming out in the next two months. I hoped I helped.

extreme

Thank you very much for that reply! From what I hear TTS has 1 5/8" and supposedly offer most low end torque on a stock motor...

I was one of those that went from the TPIS to LGM LT's. I gained 17/22 hp and tq from 2800 up. I was more impressed with the TQ gain than anything else because I can feel that. the TPIS were fine for what I wanted when I bought them. But trying to squeeze out extra HP and Tq drove me to the higher dollar LG's.
Cheers
