Hey guys just want to find out for those of you who purchased the lowering bolts how much did it lower the front end and how hard are they to install??
I got mine from West Coast Corvettes. More $ than others but I wanted the poly bushings that it came with... I didn't want to reuse the stock bushings. Check my sig for my ride height.
Don't waste your money on the lowering kits vendors sell. :nono: They are a rip off. By some bolts at your local bolt supply store.
:iagree: , HOWEVER make sure that the bolts you buy are at least grade 5. Keep in mind, they're suspension components, so they have to be up to the task.
It is my understanding that the longer bolts are only for the rear. If you want to go lower in the front as you asked I belive the only way past the stock adjustment is to cut the bushing.

Good luck

This is correct for the front. Lowering bolts are just for the rear. Just find some 6" fine thread grade 8 bolts and you will be set. Call around to a few local supply houses, they should have them.

You are correct, I just assumed he meant for the rear. I guess never assume anything :nono: :D You can turn the front bolts and get maybe, if you are lucky, 1", if you want more you need to cut the front bushings. Look above and see the tips that meangreen linked for you. Also, I have this powerpoint that a fellow memebr did, you might want to follow it. http://www.members.shaw.ca/superchargedvette/Tips.htm
Does anyone else feel that the car doesn't ride as comfortably after lowering the rear?
I lowered mine in the rear to the point where only a thread or two remained showing, and I feel the ride quality has been sacrificed a noticable amount. On really bumpy roads the rear feels like it hops a little.
Just wondering if it is in my head, or if it is indeed worse than stock.
I purchased the 6" bolts w/poly bushings for the rear from Ecklers. However, once installed, I noticed that at the highest setting, I didn't have proper rake from front to rear w/the fronts lowered with 2/3 bushings cut. I noticed that the poly bushings that came with the longer rear bolts were thinner than the stock bushings. So, I replaced the stock rear bolts but used the poly bushings instead of stock and now I have it lowered with a few threads showing on the stock bolt, w/poly bushings, and the height compared to the front is perfect. Also note that I have CCW 18' wheels all around and Bilstein sport shocks and hotchkis sway bars.
