My factory Goodyear eagle F1s are about worn out at 43,000 miles.
They provided acceptable wear and handling for my driving style.
The downside is that they seem noisy. Does any one else make run flat tires?
Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I need new tires, too, and here's what's available. Input from you guys would help...
Bridgestone Potenza S-03
Goodyear F1
Michelin Pilot Sport
BFG g-Force T/A
Goodyear Eagle F1 Runflat
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (available as runflat)
Firestone Firehawk SZ50 (runflat)
I'm probably going with the softest, grippiest tire in the bunch that's a runflat...the Bridgestone Potenza S-03. Wear rating is 220, while most other C5 tires are like black plastic with wear ratings of 300-400, UTQG.
Click on TIRES in the corvette mall, theres a lot of information. We all have differant wants when it comes to tires & the charts in that section will help you make a decision based on how you drive etc. hope this helps.
Just put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS/ZP runflats on my 01 coupe. The difference between these tires and the Goodyears is night and day. These tires are QUIET :D , I can actually hear the exhaust again. Wet traction is much better than the Goodyears and dry is at least equal. They have a rubrail on the sidewall that extends beyond the edge of the tire to guard the wheel in a curb scraping situation, and seem to be silghtly wider than the Goodyears in stock sizing. Watch local dealer sales and price them from forum vendors. You will pay $11-1200 for a set. Worth every penny.
forget about run flats, go with Nitto's or Kuhmo's they are cheaper, quiter, and ALOT stickier, when you get them DRAG RACE EVERY ONE :reddevil :hurray: :steering:
