Re: LGM G2 headers (JWilson)
Hi, We are currently running 3 to 5 weeks delivery time, without any coating. Our headers are 304 stainless, and do not require coating to prevent rust. The 304 ss will not rust. The only reason to coat the headers is for heat reduction. The the 3 to 5 week time frame is when we ship to either you or the coater. The coating time delay may very.
In lieu of coating, we recomend the stainless heat shield from Cool Mat. There is the original Cool Mat "Heat master" shield, which insulates the upper part of the tunnel, or there is the new heat sheild that we developed in conjunction with Cool Mat that not only insulates the top of the tunnel, but also the sides of the tunnel. With this Aerospace shield, there is no need to coat our headers.
Each set of our 32" long tubes is made to order. They include a 3/8" header flange, high flow racing Merge collectors, and removable 3" catalytic converters that can be substituted with 3" off road pipes. They also come with an optional "X" pipe.
We do offer a complete "Off Road" package with just the headers, and a 3"
"X" pipe, that is still a complete bolt up kit, but at a substantially reduced price.
There is NO welding necessary with either version. It is a complete bolt up package.

Lou you recommend no coating? What percentage of your customers have them coated? Does the under hood temp rise considerably? How about plug wires melting?
I assume this is a direct purchase only through LGM and not available thorough vendors so the price is fixed ( no deals) :D
Lastly if I choose to get a coating which vendor have you had consistent results with? Time frame?
Ours are uncoated, and seem to show no heat related isues (no worse than the stock manifolds). I do like the 'burnished' look of stainless as it ages personally.
Mine are uncoated and I have one of the first sets that were made almost a year + ago and they still look like new.I have the heat mat in the tunnel which does an excellent job of that and also is a noise reducer. You won't go wrong.

LG's headers are the best made. My old headers cracked in half after 1 season, his SS headers make the best mid and high HP, and are extremely durable!
