I dont know if the there are two or one that's connected, it's located under/near the front bumper valance/deflector and you usually grimace when you go through a nice dip and hear it make contact with the road. It's apparently metal/steel or something of that variation.
If anyone has any idea what it's called or perhaps a part number, I'd grealty appreciate it. Thanks!

If you're referring to the metal "skid rails" as most people refer to them, it's actually the radiator support, and I believe it's one piece, but I could be wrong about that.

SS, I appreciate the response. The air dam/spolier is something that I grind on a daily basis just getting in and out of my garage; the item I'm referring to is in the same area but is definitely a steel/metal bar, and hangs fairly low on both sides as well.

Depending on what year your car is(2002), it's referred to as a spolier or front air dam. It guides the air into the engine(cooling) purposes I guess. It also swings back and fourth with springs, and it's supposed hit the ground(sometimes), it's normal

Posts in this thread have been referring to 2 different parts. The part Y2Kvert4me, Oldvetter, bowtiebandit, walstAL, and vetterdstr refer to is #20 in this image. The part that CorvetteSS, MANNY, and suitedup refer to is #29.

I had to replace my "skid bars" (lower radiator support) when I first got my car, it seems the previous owner hit a parking curb hard enough to actually rip the left side skid bar away from the frame!:mad
thank god it just bolts on and was fairly easy to replace.
