How much difference will 3.42 gears make???
I currently have 3:15 rear end. How much difference will the 3:42 make in HP and torque? Thank you

You'll dyno a little lower, but the car will feel like it makes 20 horsepower more.
You'd probably make even more power with a set of black Z06 floormats. ;) :lol:

I completely agree :iagree: :iagree: Especially in a automatic equipped C5. I'll be buying a gear soon and I'm going to go straight to a 4.10!

I am having 410, s put in my 99 mn6 and will be selling my 342, s there is nothing wrong with them. They have some miles on them 45k but have no problems. I just had the h/c done and the track in new york is not open yet so they have not been run with power yet and wont be. I will be asking $500. If interested please e-mail. yeap it made 2 tenths of an improvement on my 1/4-mile times. :D You will dyno a little lower. I've read a post here on the forum where a 98 A4 C5 dynoed 12RWHP lower after the upgrade from 3:15 to 3:42. Of course every car is different.
