So am I doing damage to the car by running 275/35-18 all around? I will not do it forever, it is just that these are the sizes the package that I got off of ebay came with. As soon as I wear them out, I will switch to Kumho MX with 275/35-18 front and 275/40 rear. That will give me very close to OEM diameter.

Sheesh...my emotions went from embarassment to severe depression to some what confident as I read these replys Thanks for the replys. I would like 295s but only have 9.5" wheels.

I need to make up my mind soon No rubber left on the rockflats..

Sometimes you can't think straight when you got the fever.

Considering 275/35/18 front and 275/40/18 rears

Rugby you left out fuel gauge....never had colume lock, 90k on my 00 and 35K on my 02....just finished 7200 mile trip cross country oil was down less than half a quart, not bad. Also that included one day at the drag strip in Sacramento, got 1st place in stock. Rocking seats, Na Da. Never heard about trunk thing mine works and worked fine. In reference to the guy who responded Yes if GM got it wrong, I think you need to get out more. It's probably one of the finest cars ever made.

jawsski: By going with the same size front and rear you are (possibly) affecting two things; handling because you are reducing the amount of rubber on the road in the rear and increasing the amount in the front. You will probably get oversteer as a result. By changing the heights of the tires you MAY affect active handling. Your traction control and ABS will work just fine, mine do with tires the same height front and rear. I'm running 275/40-17's and 315/35-17"s, but don't have AH.
IMHO I wouldn't do this combo, for the handling issues, but if it's such a great deal, then maybe trade the rears while they're new for a set of 295's

 I'm trying to figure out why you want to do this? I can (perhaps) see wanting the same size front and rear so you can entertain rotating the tires.

BUT, what I'm reading is that the tires (except for a couple people) are different sizes (front and rear) and the only "same size" is the diameter (18 inches)? So you can't rotae them? Is an obsession with size?

Why? :skep:
