Anybody had any problems? I am thinking of having 21st Century do my 2002 Z06 and my wife's 2002 LS1 vert. His and her supercharger setups - sounds pretty cool.
What hood should I get?
Anybody have any experience with the kit or LPE they would like to share with me?

Sounds super cool to me. I've had mine for about a month, and my wife won't even let me take her for a ride! Of course, it was a birthday present to me from her, so I'm certainly not complaining! :D

I went with the ACI hood. I had some reservations at first, but once I saw it on my car I really like it. From straight on or just at an angle, it looks plain mean. Directly from the side of the car it looks a little odd IMHO, as it stands pretty tall.
If you're going come north for any reason, let me know and we can take my coupe out for a spin! I have 3.73 gears so mine won't compete with the Magna on a Z06, but it'll likely be somewhere between the feel you'd get on it and your wife's vert.
And, I have lots of good things to say about 21st Century. :smash: :smash: Good luck. :seeya
A few other comments here. Several people have reported that the ACI hood fits better than the RKSport hood, so for that reason I went with the ACI, even though the RK was a little nicer looking IMHO. The largest difference to me was from inside the car, where the hump on the ACI is much more pronounced. To deal with this, and at the suggestion of another Forum member as well as looking at various cars, I asked 21CMC to paint the underside of the hump that faces the interior flat black; now from inside the car there is almost an appearance that you can see under the hood, when what you are really seeing is a flat-black painted vertical shelf. I think this is much less in-your-face than it otherwise would've looked with bright pewter paint staring right at you. I can try to post some pics if you think it would help. :seeya
SteveL,
Your engine compartment looks so cool! Who did that?? And where can I get it done...that would make a very nice gift idea :)
Thanks. As to who did it, the answer is easy --> www.autobuffs.net. You can see all sorts of samples by clicking in the left column on either "gallery" or "custom paint." Actually, what you see in my signature is a little old, as it doesn't show the supercharger. It now looks like the following picture, and I'm in the process of getting some matching rail covers from them.
I was John Page's first SC customer; I had the work done last September.
Not a single issue to report, except excess tire and clutch wear ;).
I just had Corsa Indy's and a Manganflow X-pipe installed by John last weekend, and wish I had done this back when I had the blower installed. Wife followed me home from John's shop and said I was most definitely creating a disturbance :hurray: :hurray:
As far as the hood... I have the RK Sport hood, and love the way it looks. Definitely more subtle than the ACI, and it looks a lot meaner in the rear view mirror. However, the fit is pretty substandard. It is not, IMO, an issue with finishing, but the mold. It just does NOT fit. The curvature of the hood is completely different than the curvature of the front cowl.
Cool deal. Did the X pipe give more performance or just make it sound better? My ZR-1 is so loud, I was thinking about leavin the stock 02 z06 exhaust - it sounds pretty good.
I definitely noticed a performance improvement, but will verify on the dyno. Whether it was the Corsa's or the x-pipe??? I installed the x-pipe mainly to smooth out the flow and to avoid the popping.
The car just sounds freaking evil, even at partial throttle. At WOT, my wife (from the other car) described it as one of the 'loudest shrieking growls' she had ever heard. I asked if it sounded good? 'F$%& yeah' she said :yesnod:
And Philip, I am not sure you are qualified to break it in!
Just kidding! Tell Steph hi!
Dawn
Even better news -- there is no mechanical break-in with the supercharger. But, you will need to break in your nerves from the rush and your face from the grins. :smash: :smash:
