Default parts differences between z06 and 01 coupe

Anyone know off the top of their head what the few part differences between z06 and 01 coupe motors are?

For just the motors, the differences are heads, cam, valves, valvesprings.

The exhaust manifolds and mufflers are different, too, as are the tranny (different gears except for 4th), stiffer springs, swaybars, and shocks. Wider wheels, and non-funflat tires, too. Rear brake ducts, screens on the front foglight area, fixed-roof body style, thinner glass.

:nono:

'01 and later all C5 and Z's share the same exhaust manifolds. From the cat back is different (Ti) for the Z's though.

one other piece of information.

The car has 35k miles on it. for the $1700 they want to extend the warranty, I am thinking of spending half that and getting maybe even an MTI T1 Cam or a Cartek, anyway, if I do a Cam, should I do the springs as well? I can't afford the heads ... wish I could. Wife is wanting a swimming pool and that has tapped me out.

But makes the kids and her happy and lets me get some MODs going

Yeah, you have to upgrade valve springs with an aftermarket cam, unless you get a *really* small cam. Most people recommend upgrading the timing chain, too. I also did an underdrive pulley when I did my cam swap, because there's no extra labor needed when you do it at the same time.

Here's everything I did when I put my cam in:
Rev 1116 dual springs, with spring seats and titanium retainers from http://www.aandacorvette.com: $350
chromemoly pushrods: $110
rollmaster double timing chain: $70
Katech ported oil pump: $110
ASP underdrive pulley and belts: $160
comp cam: $350
LS1edit dyno tuning: $500
Total: $1650

I had headers before doing the cam, they were about $1000. I also got upgraded my 99 to the 2001+ intake manifold, you won't need to do that since you have a 2001.

Hmmm, check with Ken Fichtner, you may be pleasantly surprised at the cost :flag
