You can port the throttle body but porting the intake is going to be a real trick. It's made of plastic and you would probably ruin it. I have not heard of anyone on the FORUM porting their intake.
I recall seeing a post about an aluminum after market intake that is available for the C5 now. You may want to do a search for that.
I think Dave told me they basically just open up the ports to match the intake ports on the heads & this alone is good for 5 to 10, the new Vararam intake manifold they are going to be testing for Vararam will be the answer if it pans out, ARE also port match the intakes, Shirl DIckey is experimenting with complete porting of the zo6 intakes, so its in the works, check the post extremecorvette posted on the Vararam manifold. We are all looking for a better intake and the guy who comes out first will sell thousands of them.
Cartek does it and like the others said. Dave told me also that they basically just open up the ports to match the intake ports on the heads & this alone is good for 5 to 10, because the they make the port lager on the heads and the port opening on the intake is smaller if they left it this way they would get air turbulence witch might cost some hp. They just CNC machine the opening of the ports and just behind the TB. I was told that it’s really only good for motor that make over 400RWHP, they use enough air were a larger opening wont hinder the motor, you might pick up a few peck hp but you will loss hp under the curve and torque. When you have the same volume of air pass throw an opening and when you make that opening bigger you loss port velocity to keep the volume the same. I would just wait for the Vararam intake or if you can get a LS6 cheap. To port it would be best to do it on a mill not a dermal. If you get the plastic to hot it will gum up and make small tear shape gouges in the surface.
There was good post recently about intakes and there were several pictures of intakes similar to the one shown, they were recommended for engines that run past 6600 rpm and strokers (big inches), they guy said they were about $1600 to $1800 but I don't remember any numbers being mentioned, I am also very anxious to get some air to my motor without the FI.
