how to replace front center spoiler
How hard is it to replace the front center spoiler? Does anyone have a How-To? My 99 convertible I just got is missing the center one and from what I have read, I need to replace it.
Thanks

My service manual shows 4 bolts holding it on. Very straight forward. Torque spec when you put the bolts back on is 62 lb in (not foot-pounds!).

Easy. I just did it yesterday. The part was $41 from the local Chevrolet parts department. There are two bolts that hold it and two aluminum brackets that it snaps in to in the middle.

The mounting bolts (4), including the aluminum brackets (2), don't come with the deflector. Make sure you get those pieces, too.
I assume you have ramps? Easier if you can get underneath or at least jack up one side.
Very easy to install.

Re: how to replace front center spoiler (TooManyIDs)
Are you saying I need 4 bolts and 2 brackets? If so, what size and length are the bolts, and what kind of brackets or where do I get them. I ordered the spoiler last night, so I have a few days before it comes.
Thanks

Re: how to replace front center spoiler (BackSpacer_C5)
I just did mine a couple of weeks ago and I remember only two bolts holding the center spoiler pice on.
I just used the two I removed when I took the old one off.
In addition there is a metal piece that fist into a metal groove, sort of snaps in.
I think if you get the car up on at least a couple of two by fours under each wheel and look at the area, and pay attention to how you take it off you should have no problem.
The front is easily recognized as is the top where the two brackets for the bolts are.
Good luck and if you would like to call me while you are doing the install send me an email and we can set up a time where I can walk you through it.

Re: how to replace front center spoiler (chucschramm)
The spoiler was missing and so are the bolts. I guess I can just use whatever bolts that fit. I guess when it comes, if I have any problems I will ask you guys for some more help.
