Ok, I'm new here as I just bought my FRC. My car has a warantee, but I just want to make sure i'm not missing something really simple here. The passenger side window will not go down. I hear what sounds like a solenoid click in the door, but the motor does not even budge. Is there a child lock out or something? Or a fuse or something I should check before letting the dealer at my new ride? Thanks in advance.

Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (CGJARVIS)
Since you still have a warranty......take it back. I have had previous cars that had a "stuck" window. Sometimes you can free the motor by slaming the door or pounding the inside door panel. I wouldn't recommend that in this situation, but it has worked on some of my older cars.
Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (CGJARVIS)
Each door has it's own computer, the Driver Door Module (DDM) and the Passenger Door Module (PDM).
When you push the switch on the driver's door it sends a signal to the DDM, then the DDM sends a Class 2 message to the PDM for the window to roll down.
Then the PDM activates it's internal relays to send power to the window motor and roll it down.
If you hear a click, most likely it's a motor problem. Physical shock will usually restore operation but the motor will fail again later.
My advice if the vehicle is still under factory warranty, is to take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
The regulator is serviced with the motor, and replacing it is no fun.
There are several adjustments to make to the regulator once it's installed to make sure the glass is in proper position for correct sealing.
Make sure somene who knows about Corvettes works on your car, there are 12 guys in my shop that would screw that job up.
Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (EWill3rd)
Had the same problem about a year ago, slammed the door and it started working for a few months. A few weeks ago it wouldn't go down again (but could hear a clicking sound inside the door when switch was pushed) so I took it in to get the motor replaced. As long as you're under warrenty just have them fix it for you or else it will happen again, when you're out of warrenty

Very common problem. Just needs a new motor assembly.
Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (speedyc5)
Thanks for the response guys!!! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Boy, I'm glad I bought the exteneded warantee. These Chevies seem like they could have there fair share of expensive repairs. Especially on a car with only 20k miles. I see vendors selling these motor/relays for like $270. I hope they dont go bad that often.
Thanks again guys, I off to the dealer. :smash:

Same thing happened to my 2000. Had the motor replaced under warranty.
TSB listed on this problem as well.

Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (CGJARVIS)
Had the same problem on both sides. Window motor/acuator replaced on both sides. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE IT TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS VETTE!! The original shop messed up the job and didnt mount the motor right resulting in a scratched window! :(
Re: Passenger window will not go down??? (CGJARVIS)
Its not always a bad motor.........
I had a 2000 Coupe and the passenger window stopped working after 1 year of ownership. Clicked only when the button was pushed. I opened the door, wiggled/jiggled the window, shut the door a few times and it magically started working again. Never had the problem a second time in over another year of use. After that, I weekly made a habit of opening and closing both windows a few times.
Seems the windows enjoy being opened and closed on a regular basis, and you hear about the passenger side failing more than the drivers, probably due to the infrequent use of the passenger window.
My 2000 C5 coupe has a passenger window problem and passenger remote lock problem. I rarely drive it and it has been garage kept since original purchase. There is no click when either passenger window or either remote passenger switch is pressed. The driver side works perfectly. I rarely use the passenger window, or use the door, for that matter. I have checked fuses in both fuse panels and tried the banging on passenger door while pressing button while ignition switch is in accessory position. Any other suggestions?

Since you have warranty it's not a biggie!
I didn't so I found a new window regulator on line for around 100 bucks and put it in myself.
Sounds scary but it's really an easy job. All kinds of videos online along with step by step instructions.
It went in easy...except... I sure wished I had marked my window before I took it out. It took me forever to get the window back in the right place.
I should have taken some masking tape and put it on the outside of the window and marked it front and back and installed it back in the same place.
Lesson learned!
Good luck!
