Default Window valet users look inside.....

I just got mine today and it says not to enter into configuration mode with the key on. Any reason for that or is it just a safety concern on their part?

Thanks,
Joe

You need the key on to power up the system and enable the programming through the keypad. :yesnod:

Hmmm. this is strange. This is a quote from the manual

"You should not attempt to access the Configuration Mode unless the key is absent from the ignition or in the OFF position"

Maybe a typo???

I don't know why they have that in there, but yes it will work without the key in the ignition. That is how I config. mine. Oh yeah before I RTFM, I had the key and car on. Worked both ways, but if the manual says it, I do it!
