where does the changer screw to in the trunk? I know it goes down in the center cavity.....does it just screw to the back wall? and if so what screws would be best to use?
The factory installed brackets have holes drilled thru the body pan for two alignment pins and the 4 threaded studs, then the brackets are bonded with adhesive. These brackets are inserted from the outside of the pan, before installation into the chassis.
Dealer installed changers are done similarly, but the location has to be offset somewhat because the rear frame member is right about where the factory puts the bracket. It's kinda hard to explain, but I've seen it in person.
If you're installing a changer, I think you can skip the drilling and bond the base brackets to the inside of the pan. Then the changer brackets would still slip right onto the studs.
