Okay....just one more quick question about the PCV Mod
I did a search and found *all* :jester The postings concerning the oil consumption issue and the PCV mod. One thing I can't determine is this something to be concerned about with the 2000
I see a number of 2000 members have done the mod, but if I'm reading the posts correctly, it sounds more like a safeguard measure than out of absolute necessity. :yesnod:
Thanks for your patience in reading about this issue again.......

You will burn it or catch it
Thats what the mod is all about
Oil consumption is about ring flutter at low load higher RPM
I HAVE A 2000 VERT AND REALLY CAN'T COMPLAIN.
I want to put the mod on to see if I am getting any oil going in the Manifold and being burned.
My vert is an auto
The stick guys seem to have more trouble ?

Re: Okay....just one more quick question about the PCV Mod (c5BlackBeauty)
I have a 2000 with a 6 speed and USED to have the oil consumption problem...try a quart in less than 1,000 miles. I cured it with a combination of two things. 1. Driving habit, don't cruise, low load, with higher than 2,500 rpms. 2 Change to the new PCV from GM, the on that really doesn't have a spring loaded valve, just a small orifice.
For the last 1,000 miles I have used ZERO oil. For the last 300 miles I have had the PCV mod (filter in the PCV line) and it has collected ZERO oil. :D
Re: Okay....just one more quick question about the PCV Mod (6Speeder)
I did the PCV mod some 500 miles ago and have collected a small amount of oil in the filter. IMHO, however small the amount, it's better caught in my filter rather than in the intake and combustion chamber. Choices, that's what the mod game is all about.
