Have you ever wondered what would happen when you upgrade your fronts, or swap M/C, or any of the other things you can do to a braking system. Well, your braking system is just hat, a complete system. So rather than do somehting for looks, or that may in fact make your car brake worse.
Disclaimer: Don't hurt yourself with this. A couple of bad keystrokes could cost thousands.... Don't ask. :)
Big disclaimer: If you use this spreadsheet to design your brakes and they fail horribly and you die in a fiery crash… It's not my fault. YOU are responsible for verifying the accuracy of this information. I am not a Professional Engineer… There may be many errors.
Not that bad, really. It doesn't include the rest of the story in brake design. Ventilation factors , finite element structural analysis of the caliper to prevent noisy brakes, acceptable unsprung weight. wheel/caliper clearance. brake booster design. variable contact patch (e.g., bmw is using fast deflation/inflation for future enhanced braking performance of its x5). aerodynamic loads (obviously worse is better).
