Default Flywheel and Clutches Need Advice

I know that this has been discussed before, but since new clutches have appeared in the market would like to know what the recommendations for a new light flywhee and clutch are?

My rear wheel horsepower is 371 and torque is 370 ft. lbs. Looking for a clutch that is good on the street and that can take this horsepower while autocrossing and/or time trials. Do not drag race.

Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure about a flywheel, but I can tell you that I have the Cartek clutch and this thing grabs like nobodys business! I've had absolutely no problems with it and it is adjustable as well! Hope this helps...Steve :D

your biggest improvement will come from upgrading the m/c & slave to 2002 Z06 specs

Robert,

We have had great success with the new Quarter Masters small diameter clutches in many applications. It uses a 8.5" or a 7.25" assembly in either a single disc or dual disc configuration. These clutches are similar to the strength of their "NASCAR" clutches. They have been pop tested do hold well over 900 ftlb of torque instead of just claiming to be X% stronger than stock. Also this will be the last assembly you ever buy because it is 100% rebuildable if you ever shall break the clutch disc or springs.... We currently are using them in our Extreme Series Road Race Cars. They are also being currently used in Trans-Am series cars also. You can check them out at http://www.racingclutches.com or our site at http://www.cerraracing.com. Hope this info helps.

Thanks
Mike

At your power level you have lots of choices. Most improtant is to put on the newest version of the GM slave. With most clutches use the newest GM master, and drill out the three restrictions between the master and slave. I am running the Star Spec Stage II with an aluminum flywheel and love the combination. Grabs and holds like a crazed pitbull, stock pedal feel, revs faster than stock. Also not too pricey.
