I am new to the forum and would love some advice on header selection. I have a 2001 Convertible. Currently the car has a Corsa Indy cat back system on it. What are you guys (and gals) using for headers and x-pipes. Also, don't some of the header kits come with x-pipes as well?? and any opinions on the value of free flowing cats?? Thanks for the input!!

Welcome to the forum.......and FLP'S all the way...the system is for 1500$ and it includes headers, x-pipe, off road pipes and cats......They sound great with the corsa....and the hole thing is bolt on not welded like the other headers......Trust me FLP's are the best......Good Luck
Check out Stainless Works long tube headers/X pipes/cats - they are one of the few systems available made of 304 stainless steel. Matt at Stainless Works is a very good customer service guy. You can get him at 1-800-878-3635 ext 0. I'm going to buy a set from him if the snow up here ever melts.
Welcome to the Forum - It's a great place to get information.

Wecome to the Forum.
If you're already doing 0-60 in 4 don't fix a thing - it's not broke. But on the other hand???? I also have Corsa Indys and just installed FLP's in Feb. Very good mod for the money. Complete bolt on system with absolutely NO cutting. Only suggestion I would make is that you do the install on a lift, did mine in the garage with the car only 18 inches off the ground - 11 hours to complete. The FLPs (IMO) are the best for the money - your get headers, hi-flow CATs, off road pipes and the x pipe, which are all ceramic coated.
Installing the FLPs resulted in a deeper mellow tone at idle, and then agressive and loud at WOT. I like the gurgle and pop (so did my wife when she listened to the CORSA's to begin with and then bought me a set) and I still get that sound too. Good luck.
If you don't need cats, (i.e. plan on running off-road pipes), the LG headers with the X-Pipe is around the same price as the FLP system. From what I have researched so far the LG headers are the best hands down.
I am still debating the issue myself. I have to decide if the hp difference is worth the $ difference. I personally don't care about running cats.
I am going to go with the TPIS, Stainless Works, or the LGs
If you want to run cats, the FLP system is definately the best bang for the buck.
Does anyone have any input on the installation of TPIS or Stainless Works? How do the two compare against eachother as far as HP and TQ?
Don't want to hi-jack the post, but I think we are probably looking for answers to the same questions. Good to see another MI member!
