If I had to pick one , i'd say the Kirban Shifter .. The stock shifter is terrible !

I totally agree. The Kirban was the best investment I made for the $. It may not make you go faster, but it was worth every penny.

Blackwing with hood seal - $185 shipped from Xtreme a while back. Easy mod, great seat-of-the-pants improvement.

!CAGS should always be the first thing any corvette owner does. After that, I'd say its a toss-up between a short throw shifter and an airbox.

Agreed...and the V1 is not cheap itself, but it sure is cheaper than getting a few tickets.

This is easy....we can do it, or you can yourself at the local muffler shop. Cut the mufflers out. Drop in 2 resonator/tip combos. 35+ HP gain. 30 Llb weight loss. With good resonators, the sound is awesome and clean. Still bearable inside the car. Oh, it it looks just incredible. Happieness for me now is my wife, in a classic short black dress, bent over the back of the vette adjusting the strap on her heel. I will get a pic for you guys to enjoy it too. Way to hot for me, not sure how i got her!

I also think a radar detector is a must. In fact, that's the first thing I bought. However, believe it or not, not everyone speeds in the corvettes. :auto:

Cheap C5 Mods Done in a weekend
For the mechanically inclined:
Epoxy filled , ported and polished throttle body. ($5) T
De-screened, smoothed & polished MAF. ($0) T
Titanium valve retainers. ($100)
Anybody can do it:
Lower temp thermostat. ($60)
Lower setting on cooling fans. ($150 switch or LS1_Edit)
Throttle body bypass (~$1, hardware store aluminum tubing)
Smooth air duct coupler ($50) T
Tie wrapped paper filter. ($0.50) T
Lighter tires when you need them anyway.
A&A exhaust mod ($100 installed)
Gut the pre-cats, if applicable ($0 and a set of cat-back gaskets ~$5) T
Cold air intake ($0 if you cut the inserts or unbolt them, $60 for Z06 screens)
Notes: “T” indicates that this mod may require tuning with a MAFT or LS1_Edit.
Good luck,
Steve
