Default question

I lowered my car today. I thought that I was going to have problems with clearance but found none. However, the car rides as rough as a skateboard. I have to leave the suspension on touring, anything else and it feels as though the car will break in half. Did I do something wrong on the mod? Or is the rough ride an expected side effect :skep:

I would say you lowered the rear too much more than the front.

I lowered the front only down to the bushings. I had bought longer rear bolts (although now i know I did not need them) and lowered the rear accordingly.

When I put the car back on the ground and took it for a test drive it rode as if there were a load of bricks in the back of the car.

What I did then was to raise the rear back up a couple of threads at a time and test it out. At some point the ride became much better for me (its all relative).

What I surmise from this is that I had upset the car's natural stance enough to have it act as it did. By this I am talking about how the car sits naturally when stock, with the 17inch front wheels and 18inch rears.

Stock the car sits with the rear being slightly higher than the front. I believe I inverted that somewhat making the rear lower than the front and causing my problem.

I would experiment a couple, three threads at a time to see how it turns out.

Hope this helps!

I've had no ride problems at all with mine lowered. Sorry I cannot help you specifically. I have the Z51 suspension, I'm not sure if it makes a difference if you have the ride select option.
