I pulled my motor out last thursday and was pretty easy and straight forward. I found a few bent pushrods and a spun bearing. The rings looked decent but had over 20% loss in the leakdown in a few cylinders. My new rings and replacement bearings should be here this afternoon so engine assembly should start here soon.

I hit the rev limiter coming through the traps on my 10.6 pass, pulled into the pits and the engine was stumbling. I think the spun bearing was caught right when it happened because the crank isnt scored very badly. The Machine shop is getting the motor tomorrow for the bearing work.

Greg,
Yeah, I work my butt off. I usually wake up early on sunday and get all of my work done before 12 to enjoy the rest of the day and finish up thing on thursday afternoon. Doing your own mechanical work has its advantages and disadvantages. I like the fact that I can verify all of the clearances and ensure its right from the get go. Too many times have I dropped my car off at shops and have the car returned with scratches and chipped paint. Never here.
I was suprised when I saw over 20% leak down on a few of the cylinders. I cant imagine how fast the car is going to be with out ring issues.
