I've got a 2001 Z06 with a Vararam Intake, and Magnaflow X-Pipe. I'm a little of tired of having a 400hp car, that doesn't sound very agressive (especially at idle).
So, i'm considering a couple of exhaust systems. Right now i'm considering the Borla Stiner Dual Tip System, the SLP Loudmouth System, and because I already have their X-Pipe, the Magnaflow Exhaust System.
I want something that sounds really powerful at idle, and also when I put my foot down. I also wouldn't mind a little extra HP.
:seeya I love my Borla 2 x 4" Stinger.... sounds great, alittle loud, I don't have a xpipe.... but it turns the vette into a B]VETTE![[/B] sport cars should be somewhat loud, I got them from truckaddons.com for $ 570.00 total, the best deal I could find, they are nice, good quality, I think you will like them, I shure do! :hurray: :chevy
I just got the quad tip Borla Stingers and they are awesome...I know that the borlas, the GHLs, and the SLPs are supposed to be the more aggressive and louder sounding exhaust. To be honest, I think the Stingers are perfect, any louder might start to get annoying and anything much less I just wouldn't be happy with. It all really comes down to preference. Good luck :chevy
For what it's worth, if you ditch the stock exhaust, you'll be adding weight and probably not a bit of hp. The other thing to watch out for is cabin resonance. While you may like the more aggressive exhaust note, that low frequency cabin noise may drive you nuts. Just something to think about. I have Corsa Tourings and like them alot. They don't resonate and the Touring flavor helps quiet the high hp motor. Best of luck with whatever you decide to go with.
Holy Schmoly the Loud Mouth is LOUD!!!! And I mean LOUD inside the car and
outside. If oyu want window rattle, Soccer mom terrifying, the Loud Mouth is it. If you want deep idle, great tone at WOT, and still be able to talk while underway - give the GHL's a look.
From: My tolerance for stupidity is at an all time low.

:withstupid: Not too loud, not too quiet, beautiful tone.

I have the loudmouths and contrary to what I read all the time they are loud but not like I see other members state. I love the sound and I do get some resonance inside the car but they are not unbearable. I have a 01 with the precats and cats and they keep the obnoxious noise to a miminum. Maybe on the older cars without precats they were louder. I love the sound and they sound like the 60's musccle cars, deep and throaty. They definitely speak at wot. :)
I have the Loudmouth with a Corsa X-Pipe and it is awesome!! It definately gets you respect on the road....scares the crap out of rice burners...sounds just plain mean! You'll definately get looks with these on your car.
Most of the other members, who are a little too weak in the knees, say it's too loud....I'm sure it would sing with the other exhaust mods you've already done. Plus, it's cheaper than any of the other's people have suggested...stingers are $600 or so...corsa and the rest are just plain obnoxious...I got mine brand new on special for $429 from Tom Byrne Motorspors...occasionly you'll find members selling theres for $299 - $399....much more cost efficient..
These also allow you to drop almost 20 pounds off the car ( and as you know losing weight is almost as good as gaining horsepower ) and is the meanest sounding of any of the exhausts out there. Your current X-Pipe will also keep popping to a minimum on deceleration..and does cut down some of the resonance you'll get around 2100 RPMs...you can also install some insulation on the drive shaft tube and under the seat area to reduce noise ( and heat ).
It's also easy to install.....You'll see other members have had a difficult time lining up the tips...I haven't really had much of an issue though..
Good luck...and you won't be disappointed with the SLP's....
