Vette Doctors?
I spoke with Carmen recently about having my car tuned at his shop on Long Island and am planning to take my car to him after the first of the month. As it will be over a three hour drive for me and the fact that there are several tuners closer, could a few of you fellas that have some personal experience with their tuning skills give me your opinions of them? I'd like to know if you think this is a good idea, if it's worth the extra miles, and if you had positive or negative results. Please no "axe grinding." I'm simply looking for some honest advice here. Thanks! :)

I took my car to Vette Doctors a couple of weeks ago. When I dropped the car off on Monday, Carmen drove me to the airport, then picked me up at the airport on Friday. Just that little bit of customer service made the trip worthwhile for me. And it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive for me.
Oh yeah, when I picked up the car, it was running much better than when I dropped it off. :D

When a company is as busy as vette doctors is, one must assume a path is beaten to their door for a reason. Make the drive.

I have heard nothing but good comments about the Vette Doctors, I have not delt with them myself but only because Cartek is closer to me. I see their customer cars at the races and they perform well. They also support the customers at the track. I would only look at a tuner that is puting out fast cars and supports the customer. You will find both Cartek and Vette Doc's are good investments with welth of C5 knowlage. But two very diferent companys to deal with.

I had mine Dyno-Tuned there this morning. I was a 2 hour drive down there. It was well worth it. Carmen tuned my vette for about 4 hours, and I am sure it has the most HP possible, as he tweaked it again and again. He also test drove it on the street to double check everything. I do not let anyone else touch my car! I have used Carmen and Dennis for over 7 years now on both my ZR1 and highly modified Vette Doctor C5 and couldn't say enough positive things about them. If you want to summarize their capabilities in one statement it would have to be:
Professional full service mechanics specializing in high performance Corvettes with a focus on customer service.
They are the number one tuner in my book! :thumbs:

master mechanics ... with a flair for being nice guys also !!- :D - just tuned my car and installed a set of lgm long tube headers ,, what a dramatic difference .. , you will not be disappointed :hurray: .. Joe
