code: 1064
I'm getting a single code in RFA (remote function as I recall), 1064. It's always "h" (history). I believe this is a lack of communication error.
Any ideas as to what is causing this and whether it is worth trying to hunt down the cause?
Thanks!

Re: code: 1064 (Elk)
I always have 1064, 1096 and sometimes 1016. All loss of communication to xxx. These are 'standard error messages' from what I've read.

It's standard equipment that comes with the car. ;) Even the smallest glitch will set it off. I've never done a scan that doesn't show it.

Re: code: 1064 (Elk)
DTC's that are U1001-1254 are communications errors on the serial data circuit shared by the various modules.
The number is set according to the following table (U1xxx where xxx is listed below)
016 - PCM - Powertrain
040 - EBCM - Brake
056 - ESC - Elec. Suspension
064 - BCM - Body
088 - SDM - Airbags
096 - IPC - Instruments
128 - Radio
153 - HVAC
160 - DDM - Driver's Door
161 - PDM - Passenger Door
166 - SCM - Seat Control
176 - RCDLR - Remote Door Lock Reciever
These are apparently set when a module has dropped off the bus for more than 5 seconds. Listed causes include the obvious such as a bad connection in the wiring between the module and the bus, or a bad power connection for the module. The History code will clear after 50 ignition cycles without a further error.
Hope this helps
