Default VORTEX or VARARAM????? NEW VERT

pretty simple question. I sold my coupe and bought a new black convertible and the modding starts all over. I had the K&N modified stock intake, and want something a lot better. I want the most horsepower intake available outside of super/turbo charging. Which do you guys like better, or which produces more horsepower the VORTEX rammer or the VARARAM air intake???

Thanks a lot,

Justin

vararam is slightly better over vortex.

Decide on the install pita and the look. If it is a cia setup (bottom breather) they will perform around the same.

I was told a better chance of water vapor lock with Vararam & the BPP Vortex Rammer is a little less $$$. I do not know the dyno diff btwn the two but I'm :D with my Vortex. Good luck

Vortex is half the price, and just as good.....don't get me wrong, the Vararam is a nice piece, but not worth twice the $$$$$ in MHO.....other night at the track, I was consistently 3 - 4 MPH faster than a VR equipped '03 Z, only difference is I have headers.....so........

Meathouse,

We offer both products. The VR requires no cut but a longer install. The Vortex requires a cut and is a great cold air kit. The VR has shown a better result here:
http://www.vararam.com/vr1b_comparo01.html

Here is another test done by Vetteweb.com:
http://www.vararam.com/vr1b_article01.html

*NEW*
There is a new box VR has coming out that requires no cut and installs in 5 minutes. It should rival the Vortex but I will wait on more data before stating that 100%. Price point to be around 200 bucks.

RG

I would say both are great...I have the Vortex, and have heard nothing but good from the guy's with Vararam. One BIG caution though....no matter what any say, I witnessed Redgar's hydro-lock after driving 1200 miles to run in our Florida Corvette Challenge and no puddles period! Small ones no more than an inch or so should be OK...but what if it is deeper than it looks? Edgar was barely moving and it was not that deep. Great products for performance, but be cautious!
