Hi all,
I cannot figure out why my FOB won't hold calibration after I re-synch it. I have a new battery in it and the car and have done the resynch thorough the DIC. My TPS' work fine, so it isn't the receiver unit, is it? ANY ideas?
Without having a Tech 2 to watch the receiver status while pressing the fob your pretty much takin a shot in the dark. The receiver has changed part numbers 3 times so it is a safe bet thats the problem, but you may want to see if it has set a code to make sure.

Remote Keyless Entry System (RKE) and/or Low Tire Pressure Monitoring System Inoperative (Replace RKE Module)
1997-98 Chevrolet Corvette
Condition
Some customers may comment on the following conditions:
The remote keyless entry system (RKE) is intermittently inoperative.
The Driver's Information Center is inoperative or it displays the following messages intermittently and usually at start-up of the vehicle:
Low tire pressure.
Tire pressure trouble codes may occur.
Cause
When the ambient temperature of the interior is less than 10° C (50° F), some oscillating transistors may stop working. However, when the interior warms, they begin to work with the next key cycle. The module in question is P/N 10401040.
Correction
Replace the RKE Module with P/N 10422621.
Hi all,
Thanks for the replies. I know there is a tool that is called a FOB tester, but my dealer said someone had stolen theirs when I went to ask for a test. I had to tell the service writer that they had one and give him the part #, but I have now forgotten it. Maybe a C5 tech can remember it and post the part # here. My TPS' work fine and I have no codes or DIC messages upon startup. Hmmmm, must be the fob from one too many drops.

The module is located under the black interior quarter trim on the left hand side. You have to separate the double sided tape from the body, pull the trim down and it sits about one third the length of the quarter.
