Default codes/computers and dyno mat!

Hi Guys,

My car is flipping out with codes....service engine, trac cntrl, reduce engine power, low fuel, door ajar, etc And my drivers door is non functional for windows, locks, memory, etc

Is this the BCM? and is it a big deal for dealer to replace under warranty? I am hoping its not the pcm under the battery!

I hose off the block periodically but see no reason to adversly affect anything from a lil sprinkle?!?!?!?!

Also dyno matted the hatch and behind seats...anything there that could have become disconnected??? my first guess is no....advice?

As always thanks buds!

Marc

Really sounds like the BCM (under the passenger floorboard) ... it controls all those things you listed ... any chance it was unplugged recently for the dynamatting?

nope...I didnt touch the floor boards...just the hatch and behind the seats...unless some wiring is there for some ridiculous reason...any insight? Unrelated and ironically timed failure of BCM???

Sounds like a bad ground, or one of the modules as noted. C5s are very sensitive to ground/corrosion problems so I would suggest you forget the hose and just wipe off the engine periodically. Good luck.

Check the BCM and see if it's wet from a plugged air conditioner condensation line. If not, maybe you disturbed one of those major grounding points.

Hey Skid.

GM says that you shouldn't use water on the block. They have been having
problems with rusting knock sensors. . . Their fix is to put up an RTV dam
around it so it doesn't collect water. Great fix.
