MTI 427 startup problems
C5R engine.
It starts ok, idles kind of rough, have not done idle relearn procedyre yet.
After a while, my friend went trough different gears (idle standing still) and we shut her down.
Then we cant get her to start up again ???
It tries to start, but shuts down again.
With Ease scanner i looked at all DTC and cleared them, there was two B errors, cant remember #, but it was regarding battery.
a few U errors, and one Pxxxx regarding TCM something.
Not anything that should indicate engine failure......
After a little cool down period, engine started up nice again ? wtf.....
Same thing happen over again, go trough gears, shut down and would not start again.
pleeese help out if anyone know where to start..

Just wondering what MTI had to say? I assume that you have called them. They will be the best source for a solution on their engine. Just a thought. I know that when I have a problem, Lou is the guy I call and he would get pissed if I called someone else on his engine.

did you put a new computer or a new program in the computer? It sounds like the security defeat is kicking in. If you haven't tried it yet, do a full relearn first.

It worked perfect for me.
My engine didn´t start without it.
I would share the with you.
Robert (RWJ383) who did my idle tune got it near 100% right on the first try!!!

This is the easiest, cheapest and very safe place to start. As long as you have a copy of your MTI PCM file you can always restore it. More and more people are finding out about using the idle and limiters section to correct startup, idle, surging, hunting racing etc. This tuning will not effect the WOT performance of your car.
If it is 99 or 2000 you can try my idle runing.
It worked perfect for me.
My engine didn´t start without it.

1. engine specs
2. trans type + stall converter size
3. Fuel octane used daily
4. Naked pictures of women from your country (ok, not a requirement, but, it will help!!!:o)
5. any scan you can provide in .txt format.
I will do the rest.
We'll fix you up right nice!! If you have an A4 trans, Michael Drs can share his tune with you. Caveat- top secret stuff in it!! ok, maybe not...:o)

First we drilled a small hole in trottle blade, next we found a little vacuum leak, actually the Vacuum to Level IV trans was disconnected back at the trans :-o
Did the security learn procedyre, idle learn and now it seems ok.
