I've posted this question a couple of times in other's threads, but never gotten an answer.
GM sells a transmission oil/fluid called "Synchromesh", which seems to be a hot commodity with Mustang owners. However, to my knowledge, it isn't the factory fill in a Vette. Is GM Synchromesh OK to use in our trannies? Are there any issues with incompatibility with seals and the like? If it's not OK for Vettes, what the heck is it used for?
Thanks in advance for your consideration and comments.
I've read several other posts that guys have used it & loved it. Said it made the tranny shift like butter. I think I remember reading that the stuff is a semi-synthetic. Should be finr to use. I think they said it will take 4 qts. If you're gonna buy it at the dealer, they should be able to answer your questions. SCOTT
Can't answer your question, but I can tell you there is information in the archives you can search. I stumbled across syncrhomesh topics when doing a different search yesterday.
It seems odd that there is a sticker on the trans and the manual also calls for Dexron III automatic transmission fluid. Bierbelly if you try the Syncromesh keep us informed on weather you feel and difference or not.
