I just ordered I set of borla quad tip stingers. Im just wondering if I can expect a HP increase? My car is 100% stock .I bought them for the great sound. But some extra HP would be nice :yesnod: :yesnod:
I dyno'd mine with a set of the 4-tips - dog stock '99 6-speed - no gain at all. A little weight savings over the stock pipes, but that's about it. Enjoy the sound!
Before the Borla Stingers I dyno'd 295rwhp & after the Stnger install & LS1 Edit dyno'd 321.8rwhp. I realize the tuning probably liked the combo of the BPP Vortex Rammer Intake, Shaner S2 TB, & Borla Stingers. Also, keep in mind that a rwhp decrease is expected from a 2.73 rear to a 3.42 rear, nevertheless I gained 26rwhp. How much was actually due to the Stingers is hard to say, but they certainly complimented the BPP Vortex Rammer & Shaner S2 TB.

I'm trying to generate up interest for GP on LGM's soon to be available
(in 1-2 months) Production G2 LT Headers. These LT's with Hi-flow Cats & Xpipe will put out an increase of 25-35rwhp. The G2 LT's Lou sales right now are around $2200.00, but the "Production" line will be in the neighborhood of $1500.00. However, do not quote me on the price cause LGM is still working out the #'s. Maybe Godspeed can chime in. He is magician with LS1 Edit, BTW.
I had a set of Borlas, and I don't think you're going to pick up much without other mods. I think that Cary's additional horsepower was due to a combination of things, and the Borlas were just along for the ride. Strangely, when I had the Borlas, I picked up a preignition type knock (which I really didn't like), which I thought might be due to less backpressure. The Borlas eventually went back because of quality problems, and I put on a set of GHLs which are great and the knock disappeared. I have no idea why I had it with the Borlas but don't with the GHLs.

I've NEVER had a "preignition type knock" with Borla on my present C5 or on a previous Trans Am.
Most folks will agree that ANY aftermarket exhaust is ear candy not a performance enhancement. While that's not to say a car won't register a few extra HP but I doubt you'll get a "kick in the pants" by switching exhausts.
Exhaust helps best when coupled with a good air intake system.....Breathless rammer, Vortex, Blackwing, etc.
:iagree: Plus, add a S2 Shaner TB to the intake system  Furthermore, add some G2 LT's(by LGM) in front of the Borla Stingers & your :steering: :D
