Just got the car from the dealer after they installed a new PCM. Trouble is I have the 3.42's and it was flashed back to 2.73 gears. Will it hurt to drive the car with the factory programming untill I decide if I want to go with LS1 Edit?????
Re: Should I re-install the Steve Cole programming??? (SHOWTIME!)
It won't hurt it, but it might not drive perfectly. I think your mileage on the car will be off, if I am correct, you might be putting more miles on your odometer than you actually drive. I have a PL right now and just added 3.42's to replace my 3.15's which are 8.5 % differentcve so for every 100 miles I drive I put on 108.5 miles. In your case 2.73 to 3.42 is 20% so you will add even more. I am not 100% sure on this, but I think that is correct.
Re: Should I re-install the Steve Cole programming??? (SHOWTIME!)
The early PPLII were not locked
Maybe someone knows when the cutoff date is ?
That would be great to know......hoping someone will chime in with some aditional Info. Sure would be nice not to have to flash this back to factory before messing with the LS edit
Re: Should I re-install the Steve Cole programming??? (Mean Green 2000)
Bob....we'll know tomorrow morning when Mike Norris starts the tuning on my ride after the header install :)
I'm calling Mike at 10:30am....stay tuned :D
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Mark. Hope your luck is better than mine. Here's what happens if you try and re-install the TTS programming................. I am totally screwed!
Re: Should I re-install the Steve Cole programming??? (Mag Red Monster)
ahhh HOLY HELL Bob :(.........that sux :smash:
I've had the PL for almost 2 years and actually almost forgot about the "lock out" issues.....may not be able to pick the car up tomorrow, but we'll know early am what the scoop is :)
If need be, I have it reflashed then start fresh with Mike's tuning :)
