installing blackwing
I just ordered a blackwing air filter for my 2000 6 speed. How hard is it to install and will I notice any horsepower jumps at all? :flag

Re: installing blackwing (178thSFS)
Easy install - one hour. Check threads for tips. I did not notice any major performance increase but did gain about 1.5 mpg [ my dynomometer].

Re: installing blackwing (178thSFS)
real easy to do
spent a little over an hour working on it, mostly trying to figure out how to unplug the MAF. I could do it again in 30min
I noticed a big SOTP improvement right away
best bang for the buck mod out there

Easy to install and with a couple of other minor mods, I got a 17 hp gain.

Very easy install just read all of the install tips on all of the forums. So far no real SOTP increase but I didn't pull the negative connection on the battery for the instant relearn on the computer.

Re: installing blackwing (dexter)
but!! But!! :smash: you need a good weather seal installed along the hood gap. or water from washing and rain will get on your blackwing fliter!
and you dont want to suck water in the intake :nonod:
so a cheep weather seal will fix you up :yesnod:
i just do see anyone bringing that up here yet?

Re: installing blackwing (VETTENV)
install is easy. took about 30 minutes. I did notice that after the install and the computer relearned itself that the popping sound on deceleration was gone. I had my stingers and xpipe installed prior to blackwing. GREAT PRODUCT!!! :D
