Yokohama Run Flats
Even though I vowed in February to never send another thread, a positive and recent event prompted me to change my mind at least this one time:
Kudos to Tire Rack!
Kudos to Shepherd Square Tire and Auto, Houston, Texas!
Kudos to Yokohama for an absolutely fantastic run flat tire program for the C-5 Vette!
After reviewing all run flat tires, tread design, tire widths, traction, quietness, etc., I made the decision to go with Yokos.
I was warmly and professionally treated by Tire Rack.
I ordered the tires and Shepherd Square received them in two days.
Shepherd Square has trained personnel to handle the intricacies of run flat change out. Their personnel treated me most professionally.
The four Yokos cost +/_ $1165.00 including shipping and NO sales tax.
Shepherd charged $23.00 each for mounting and balancing.
The tires have exceeded all I thought they could be.
Smooth, quiet ride, excellent handling.

Hey Face,
Do you drag with them or do you switch them out at the track. I want a RF with decent hook up as well as performance when I autoX. AZ is hard on tires, many flats along the HWY's! TIA! :seeya

I am lazy so mine see limited track duty. My best 60 on the Yokos (w/3.73+SY3500) so far is an 1.868. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least however, I would not recommend this plan if you're at all interested in being consistent. I have many more timeslips with mid 2's with this setup. :bb
Ed, I almost always enjoy paying someone for a job that's well done, unlike the rest of thtime when I typically wonder if I could have done it better and cheaper myself. (The answer is probably always no, but you still wonder.) Don't get to do that often enough these days. Congrats! :thumbs:
