Default Dyno Results need answer ?

Hi Guy's, Just had the first dyno run done on stock 98 M6 and came up with the RR Wh HP of 252 at 5500 and 854 ft lbs RR Wh- Tqe.....I had thought that the drivetrain loss wouldn't be this high ? That's over 28% i think....does this look right ?? This has probably been beaten to death i am sure, but thanks...

Was this on a mustang dyno, or a dynojet dyno? Are the numbers SAE, uncorrected, STD, or what?

I assume you meant 254rwtq rather than 854?

The Dyno used is a DYNO DYNAMICS DYNOMETER here in Australia, i don't know if you have that brand there or not ? anyway i have heard that the USA rated BHP is slightly different to our HP but not enough to worry about..-so is 252 rr wh hp average for a stock c5 ?anyway we use metric here so not sure what the RR WH TQE is in FT LB'S...i was hoping for over 200 kw at the rr wheels and it was 252 hp =190 kw, a bit lower than my twin turbo Supra at 210 kw and 600 nm rr wh-Tqe-- what is the usual rr wh-tqe in Nm for a c5 stock?? anyone know??

If you are in Australia, and that exhaust/emissions system has been modified or built to comply with the very strict Aussie regs, then those numbers might be right. stock hp in us is 280+ish rwhp, so 30 below that for de-tuning is not unlikely. Hope that helps.

The real question is: what is the shape of the TQ curve? And what correction factors have (or have not) been applied!

I just read an article on dyno's the dyno you dynoed on doesn't calculate for something like the gearing on the drum which makes the RWTQ so high. There can be as much as a 10-20rwhp difference between dynojets(TM) and comparing different dynos all together yeild larger differences. Find a dynojet 248c so you can get some comparable results.

This car has been imported from the USA privately and as is we don't get them here any other way, GMH do not bring them in here at all so this car should be as per your's as far as spec's go- Cheers..

Go mark off a quarter mile on a lonely road and run it. If you are at 106 mph to 110mph in the quarter than it is fine and at full power. Quarter mile speed is a good indicator of engine Horsepower.

Well i have run the car a few times over the Qtr with my G-Tech meter and averaged terminal speeds around 106 mph my best so far on the street has been 13.2 and at 112 mph so i suppose the dyno we used here in Australia must rate HP differently to the USA as the RR Wh Hp was only 252...thanks
