Several months ago I changed to Bilsteins and really didn't care what I was removing....so I sold the Z51 shocks....I get a call last night that he just opened the boxes and the two front shocks are of different diameters..WTF.. all I recall was black color and road dirt
I bought the car with 12,000 miles on it from a dealer and recently noticed the front bumper was overpainted so i'm thinking damaged front end...but I've been under it frequently..lowered, wheels, painted calipers and no evidence of wreck.
Anyone know of different diameter factory shocks for Z51 suspension? or perhaps factory installed wron shock for suspension?
Re: Different size front shocks...WTF...... (jawski)
I have a used set of Z51 shocks at home. If you like I can measure the fronts a take a look on the numbers that are on them. Will be back with the answer in 10 hours.

yes, please...I was told there are color bands on the shocks one had 2 bands the other had 3 bands.... ...forgot what colors though. I don't want the fella I sold them to to think I deliberately switched them on him.

Here is the description of the different shocks. One shock was identified as a Bilstein...it is black (stock) in color. iThe P/N are sequential....s it a Z06 shock?
'The Bilstein has a yellow tag with a white border and is about 2 inches in diameter. It also has the number 10279661 and the latters TGB under the number. The stock shock has a yellow tag with a red border and is about 1.5 inches and has the number 10279660 with the letters TGA under the number. "
