Squeak Squeak Squeak!!!
I have a 99 FRC About 3 months ago the belt strarted to squeak so I replaced it. 3 weeks and it started to squeak again :confused: I have tried everything to make it go away. Today I removed both belts and it's still squeaking :cry What's the deal ? does anyone know what it could be ? It does it when I give it gas in gear or out. on the highway it sounds horrid. One person says vacume leak another says oil pump or bearings. but it only does it when you give it gas. PLEASE HELP :banghead:

One of the SMCers has a 2000 vert that had a squealing noise. The dealer replaced the belts, the alternator, and the tensioner pulley, but he still had the noise. Turned out to be the power steering pump.

Nothing more embarassing in the Vette!! I had the same problem...I tried belt dressing made it alot worse!! (don't use it).
Had both belts replace a week ago and its seems to be gone (keeping my fingers crossed). The dealer used OEM belts (Dayco). Many here like the Goldyear Gatorback.
