I just had my gears and TC swapped not too long ago. After the install, I noticed a constant metal squeeking noise, kinda like a bird chirping, coming from around the knee area. This becomes especially noticable when driving on bumpy roads or at fast speeds (on the freeway). Any ideas on what it may be?
Re: Chirping noise after gears/converter install? (Dave00C5)
Chirp or squeek? To do the converter, the rear & trans has to come out which means the torque tube has to come out. To remove the torque tube the center console has to come apart to take the shifter out.
After having my clutch replaced I had some squeeks in the area where the console mates with the dash. I removed and reseated it again and all was well.

That may be it. I'll remove the console this weekend and make sure it's firmly planted. It sounds more metallic though, but anything is worth a shot right now

The first time I did my clutch I didn't get enough torque on the torque tube to bell housing bolts and things loosened up. The only noise I heard from that was the clinks and clunks as the bolts slowly worked out. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
