Default A4/3.42 Shift Point Recommendations

Could anyone who swapped out a 2.73 for 3.42 recommend shift points to reset it at. I have a HPPIII but need to get some suggestions.

Thanks

Default Re: A4/3.42 Shift Point Recommendations (78Vette-SA)

Although my car is an F-body, I believe the A4 transmission ratios are the same. With the 3.42's in my car now, I have my 1->2 shift set at +1, and my 2->3 shift at +1 also. I left 3->4 stock.

My car will tap the limiter (6200 on a stock F-body) a single time on the 2->3 shift every now and then, maybe a total of 3 times in the 5,000 miles since I did the 2.73->3.42 swap. The only times it has happened was when I was at the dragstrip, otherwise I'm not doing any WOT runs fast enough to hit the limiter on the 2->3 shift, I don't want to risk getting a speeding ticket.

Hope that helps a little bit. :)
