Guys,
I have a Zo6. Please read this chain of events and help me come up with a diagnosis of the problem.
1. Had just taken a 40 minute trip. Stopped to get gas. When I went to start the car, the entire dash was out (instrument cluster, radio, and AC...all shut down) as well as the engine and power seats!...After a few turns of the key, the car eventually restarted, but instruments didn't come back. I drove it for about a 1/4 and the engine shuts down again. Finally got it going again and went home.
2. Next day, as I pulled in to get gas (driving alot), the dash went out again, but engine ran.
Don't mean to be insulting but did you check the battery connections (both terminals and at both ends). With a plastic car, grounds are scarce!
I'd suspect a ground problem. I'm not where I can get to my shop manual right now, but I'd start by looking for a ground common to all those. They do come loose.
