Hi all,
Any help is appreciated. These are the mods that I made to my 98' conv.....
3:73 rear
pro torque 2400 converter
trans go shift kit
hardened output shaft
upgraded tranny (racing quality parts)
tranny cooler
tri flow exhaust
cross drilled/slotted rotors w/ ss brake lines
k&n air
coolant bypass
adjustable fuel pressure
172* thermostat
throttle body bypass tube
custom computer programming
Here's the problem.........when the rear end, torque conv, tranny, shift kit and output shaft were first done, the car was like a rocket. Now every once in a while the check engine light will come on for a code 1870 (tranny slip) that doesn't really exist. Whether I clear the code or not, the car doesn't feel as powerful as it did just a couple of month's ago. This was confirmed after I raced another 98' conv that only had it's exhaust changed.....and it beat me pretty solidly.
I just moved to Phoenix from NY and the mechanic that did all the work can't really help at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for or even a recommendation for a reliable performance shop in Phx that could do a complete diagnostic.
If the other 98 had a mn6 and was tuned, you both would be very close with your gears and tq converter. You have mods that accentuate your present hp instead of hp adding mods. If you libe in Phoenix, you are very close to xtreme motorsports which happens to be one of the best and most trusted vendors here on the forum. I'm sure Nate can take care of you. Look at teh vendor list on the left and go from there.
