1st gear problem!
I've got a black 2000 hardtop with about 4750 miles on it. Only about 5 thousands of those miles are mine. Well, since a got it, every once in a while it would kick out of 1st and go into neutral. Well, yesterday it did it three times, and it was a more violent kick into neutral. What should I do?

Are you sure you are fully in first when you start out? These cars have a fairly "notchy" shift gate and it takes a bit to make sure the shift is all the way up.

I have a '00 and thought the tranny was bad at 500 mi. It jumped out of gear so often I was ready to have dealer replace. A forum member told me to change to Redline synthetic fluid and I was amazed at the difference. Car has more miles than I care to share - but it shifts a smooth as glass and has not jumped out of 1st gear once since changing fluid. Do it! You won't be disappointed.
