Default Instructions on how to replace turn signal switch

For over a week now I have had to deal with my turn signals only coming on every now and then. One minute they work and the other the turn signals don't work at all. I ordered the turn signal switch for my 2000 from GMPartsDirect.com and my dealer says it will be at least a couple of hours labor. I would like to replace the switch myself and save some money since I have spent a lot of money at the dealership in the last month and was just wondering of anyone has done this and whether or not this is a good idea to tackle the job myself. Also, if anyone has any instructions I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Adam

Default Re: Instructions on how to replace turn signal switch (PewterVette)

I did mine about 1 yr ago. relatively easy job. Takes about 30 minutes. Just remove the plastic covering around the column and sneak a torx wrench in the mounting locations. Remove torx screws and then the plugs. Pull out and replace. May have to take off the knee bolster to get at the plugs. Good luck. Use the service manual and improvise .. You should be ok. If you do not have any mechanical experience It might be better off with a service tech.
