What will happen if i install a 160 thermostat on a stock engine without programming? Will it do any good at all?

You really need to have your car programmed to turn the fans on for the 160 thermostat to be really effective.

It will not hurt anything, but the car will run at the same temps it does now.

I just installed the 160 this morning. No programming done to the car at all. Normal highway temps were 194° - new highway temp was a solid 178°. No difference in street driving - temps went all over the place as they always do. Generally hung aroung 196°.

All it will do is bring down highway cruising temps.
