I am new to the C5 world but have owned many vettes over the last 15 years. I am trying to find a good tuner in the metro Atlanta area with a good reputation and resonable prices. Any help that can be given is appreciated. :chevy
I was in the same situation, we do not have many choices here in the Atlanta area. I was looking for a tuner to do the tunning for my Cartek heads and cam package. I went to RP Motorsport and had them do my dyno tune. The price was 600 dallors. I have spoke with several people with the very same package and setup that I have and they all had 420 plus rwhp after the tune. I only have 401. I still am having problems with it. My idle is set to high, It stays at 1700 rpms when I am rolling to a stop with the clutch in, until I come to a complete stop, then it will kick down to 1000. I have told them about it and they told me to bring it back, I have not had a chance to do so, but am this week. I feel that for 600 dallors I should not have to send it back. Sorry for the long story, but that is my 2 cents worth. If you find a good one let me know. :bs
Lamar Walden Automotive in Doraville. They can tune any year vette.
They built my motor In my 71 454 vette. It puts out 450RWHP and 490RWTQ.
I highly recomend them, they have two Dynos.
Thanks for the input. I have had Lamar Walden build a motor for me in the past and did not know he was c5 tuning I will check with them on that. Where is RP Motorsports located and does anyone in ATL have any good feedback on them. :chevy
Another shop worth considering is Speed Hound in Loganville. New, clean shop, in-floor Dynojet, and they should have LS1 edit ready to go by now.
My Cartek motor was built, installed and tuned by them back in September, and the results certainly justified the 800+ mile trip. The idle has recently gotten a little squirrely, but I'm reluctant to let anyone else near the motor.
I've heard good things out of Walden, and some good about Speedhound. Also try South Georgia Corvettes http://sgvette.com/ They are a drive but a great reputation with ZR1s and have turned out some powerful H&C Z06s.
Thanks fo the input. I have been searching through friends in the restoration business with no luck, its a good thing for this web site. I will try the two closest to home as they are both within 30 minutes of the house.

I have heard the same thing from others on LS1tech.com
"Macro383 a 800 + mile trip is a little extreme isnt it? Just thought I would ask. That's seriously hard core"
Since those guys were building the engine for me, I concluded that having a single point of contact, including installation and tuning made some sense.
Besides, being an unemployed bum, I had plenty of time on my hands.
HOLY CRAP..... after seeing Nevrenuf's car on his profile I think I call Lamar Walden!!!!!!!! I live in the same small city as him and I think I could probably hear him coming from the other side!!! Enuf said!!
Oh, I forgot to thank all you guys again for all the help. I have plenty of choices now. Anybody done their own headers before? Wondering if I should have them done or attempt it myself?????
OK, so does Tom and several others in Georgia. I am putting almost 500rw with a 388 All-Bore and well over 600 on the juice. Sounds like BIG power to me. I just did not understand your comment about "eye candy", it sounded like you were saying Tom's car is nothing but "eye candy". If anyone has modded a C5 Tom has to be at the top of the list after having probably 4 different big cube motors not to mention trannies and rears. You can have SHOW and GO.
