Hi all,
I'm wondering if it is difficult to change this belt out? I changed out the serp belt a few months ago and I'm thinking this one is due.........It's about 6 years old. Is it tough to get to? Thoughts?
Easy (per service manual pg 6-49)
Indicates no parts to remove...release tension from the tensioners and just remove the accessary belt, ditto; then remove the drive belt.
Not too bad... Just make sure you look really well at how the serpentine belt is routed under and over the pulleys... As long as you know the routing of the belt, it is a pretty easy job... It might even help you to make a sketch of it on some paper...
I found changing the serpentine belt that drives the water pump, power steering pump, alternator not too difficult to change. The smaller serpentine belt that drives the ac compressor on the other hand was very difficult for me.
My only thought would be, why dint you do them both together. Now you have to remove the long serp again or atleast remove it from the crank pully.. the large serp cost me 30 dollars.. the small one was 13... it uses the same type of tensioner as the out board serp.
